So you want to lodge a complaint against a medical practitioner in Australia, yes?

 

Hi all!

Well it’s actually called a Notification

 

NOTIFICATION

You can download the Notification form from the website for AHPRA

 

HERE – the  Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency

 

When you “make a notification” the practitioner is ordinarily advised and provided with a copy of the complaint/notification in order that they may respond.

The Notification goes to the board of AHPRA for consideration as to whether further action will be taken.

The process can take between 6 and 8 weeks.

 

LODGEMENT

The website only refers to lodging via post, however,  you can also Lodge a complaint against a medical practitioner (Notification) and supporting documentation by –

  • email; and
  • over the telephone

 

Telephone AHPRA to speak with someone about your circumstances and to obtain the appropriate email address .
