So you want to lodge a complaint against a medical practitioner in Australia, yes?
Well it’s actually called a Notification
You can download the Notification form from the website for AHPRA
When you “make a notification” the practitioner is ordinarily advised and provided with a copy of the complaint/notification in order that they may respond.
The Notification goes to the board of AHPRA for consideration as to whether further action will be taken.
The process can take between 6 and 8 weeks.
The website only refers to lodging via post, however, you can also Lodge a complaint against a medical practitioner (Notification) and supporting documentation by –
- email; and
- over the telephone
Telephone AHPRA to speak with someone about your circumstances and to obtain the appropriate email address .
